Not many films are good explorations of why wilderness and wildness fascinate people. We have a few overly romantic things like "Dances with Wolves" or the one in which Sean Connery plays a bioprospector in the Amazon. As an antidote to Dances with Wolves I recommend a much more accurate film about Europeans and Indians and wilderness--Black Robe.
